Indian Constitution provides an effective and independent judicial system. Right to ‘access to justice’ has been recognized as one of the fundamental rights. Telangana Jagruthi has been privileged to implement Legal awareness and access to Justice projects aimed at expanding access to justice for poor and marginalized people.

These projects help people to understand and have more knowledge of their legal rights and entitlements. Telangana Jagruthi Legal division in collaboration with Bar Councils of various levels of Courts and the Law Colleges, imparting the awareness. This partnership has supported key priorities and a  number of impressive milestones have been reached through the partnership.

More than 18000 people in 31 Districts of Telangana benefited from legal awareness and about 360 community workers were trained under capacity building program to provide legal support in rural and tribal areas using innovative booklets and training manuals.

Women are the most vulnerable victims of violence. Telangana Jagruthi has given special focus to impart practical knowledge about the basic legal rights and remedies provided under various women related laws, thereby making them fit to face the challenges in real life situations.

Telangana Jagruthi actively engaged the awareness about the legal impacts of policy changes taking place both at the Central and State Level so that people have more clarity on the laws that are framed, and work for awareness about labour rights, both, the organized and unorganized sectors.
